International Education (IE) expects to host a customized program in late July 2026, and IE is hiring 3 Program Assistants (student workers) now.  The primary role of the Program Assistant (PA) is to act as the group leader to create a fun, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all participants throughout the program by accompanying the group to both on- and off-campus activities. Secondary roles are to assist the Program Coordinator with all preparations prior to the group arrival, set-up, and clean-up for the orientation and farewell ceremony. Other duties may be assigned by the Program Coordinator and/or the director of IE.

  • Program Dates: July 31 – August 7, 2026 (One week)
  • # of Program Assistants: 3
  • Expected Start Date: July 16, 2026
  • Position End Date: August 7, 2026
  • Expected Work Schedules (Subject to change): Be fully available to work from July 30 – Aug. 7, ’26 between 8:30am and 6:00pm (breaks in-between) including one evening (Aug. 6).
    • On or around July 27: About 1 hour for training
    • On Fri, July 30: About 4.5 hours for orientation and campus tour
    • From Aug. 3 – 6: About 36 hours for program delivery (on & off campus):
      Expected Total Hours:
    • Approx. 39 hours including preparation, training, and program delivery
  • Hourly rate: $17.13

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Hold a valid BC I-20 and be in good academic and immigration standing.
  • Be on an approved vacation term in Summer ’26 and be available without any schedule conflicts for the specified dates and hours during the program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess strong speaking and listening skills in English and be able to follow instructions.
  • Have experience in working with low-level non-native English learners with patience.
  • Be punctual, dependable, and attentive.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have prior/current paid work experience at Bellevue College or in the United States.
  • Have already met all BC/IE’s vacation request requirements (i.e., Enrolled in full-time for Fall 2026 and paid for the Summer ’26 accident and sickness medical insurance plan)
  • Be familiar with BC and Bellevue-Seattle surrounding areas.
