The Bellevue College XR Lab is working on a cross-media project about Captain Dick Nelms, a B-17 pilot who flew 35 missions in Europe during World War II. This project includes a website, documentary film, and virtual world exhibit, created in Mozilla Hubs, an online world-building application.
Nelms was 22 years old when he piloted his B17 “Flying Fortress” bomber over Nazi military targets in Germany and France. In this cross-media project, Nelms provides lucid narrative accounts of his wartime experiences as well as his return home after World War II.
This Nelms cross-media living history project is available online and will be used to augment history classes at Bellevue College and other schools.
