The GAMEs course (Guidance for Accessible Materials in Education) is a self-enroll, continually updated resource designed to help faculty build accessible, inclusive learning materials with confidence. Inside, you’ll find clear, practical training on the tools that support accessibility across campus—including UDOIT, Ally, Canvas’s native accessibility checker, Word, PowerPoint, TidyUp, image alt text, video captions, and more.

Whether you’re just getting started or refining your accessibility skills, GAMEs offers step-by-step guidance, examples, and best practices you can apply immediately in your courses. As new tools and features are introduced, the course is updated so you always have the latest support at your fingertips.

Online Excellence in Teaching (OETA)

Bellevue College is committed to providing high-quality, accessible, and engaging online education and we want you to feel confident and supported as you step into that space. The Online Excellence Teaching Academy (OETA) is a structured, two-phase training program designed specifically for faculty teaching credit-bearing online or hybrid courses.

Led by Interactive eLearning in collaboration with Faculty Commons and BC Librarians, the OETA gives you hands-on experience with Canvas, effective online pedagogy, digital tools, accessibility, and more. The full program includes 34 hours of professional development and is built to help you grow your skills, connect with colleagues, and start strong in the online classroom.

Interactive eLearning’s Month of Microlearning (MoML) is a seasonal series of bite-sized, high-impact professional development sessions offered every October and February. Each week introduces a new theme ranging from immersive media to course design strategies, delivered in quick, practical sessions that fit easily into your day.

Innovative sessions to kickstart your academic year.

Each August, the Interactive eLearning team hosts its annual Summer Institute. A day of high-energy, hands-on professional development designed to support teaching excellence across campus. This multi-format event typically offers both on-ground and online participation options, making it easy for faculty and staff to join from wherever they are.

Led by our instructional designers alongside faculty presenters, each year’s Institute focuses on topics that matter most right now. Past sessions have explored accessibility, emerging instructional technologies, teaching strategies, and new Canvas features, always shaped by current instructional needs and faculty requests.
