Proof of Strengths

In their third year of the OLS program, students take the Self-Determination in the Workplace course which seeks to help them expand their job interview skills. In addition to providing them important information and practice for future job interviews, the skills they acquire in this course will help in their final year at OLS when they interview for their internships.

Students spend time developing their 60-second sell, the elevator pitch of who they are and what assets they bring to the workplace, including their strengths. To help with the process, they spend time in the classroom identifying three of their strengths and recall a story associated with that strength. The story serves as “proof” of that strength and helps them understand how they have exhibited that strength in the real world.

Citizenship is one of the many courses OLS Students can take to obtain their associate degree from OLS. More information about our curriculum is available on our website. To learn more about our program register for an Information Session.
