Students taking the OLS Bellevue College Computer Fundamentals course this winter quarter have been busy learning about using Microsoft PowerPoint to create and edit an electronic presentation. One activity that they completed was a PowerPoint presentation about a technology that is useful to our lives. For example, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Netflix, VR Headset, Hulu, Weather and Google.
To prepare for these presentations, students were put into groups and assigned a technology. They researched and created their presentation by using a checklist to create an accessible document. Students also used a PowerPoint checklist for keeping their presentations simple. Finally, students shared their presentations in class, each groups submitting a peer checklist of the other group’s presentations.
The activity closed with students discussing the successes, opportunities and challenges they experienced working as a team to do the technology presentation.

Students in the OLS Bellevue College Computer Fundamentals Course expand their computer skills and develop basic skills in personal computer use for college success, specifically in relation to PowerPoint and Word.
