Welcome to ASC!

The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides free, high-quality tutoring and learning services for all students enrolled at Bellevue College. We have specialized tutoring labs for math and writing as well as drop-in tutoring for most subjects, one-on-one tutoring appointments, workshops, and resources for lending like textbooks and calculators. The mission of the ASC is to help students succeed academically and empower them to become independent, life-long learners.


ASC Tutoring Services and Resources

30-minute, one-on-one, private appointments in select BC subjects. Students can use the ASC’s Bookings system to schedule appointments in advance, and have the option of booking two appointments back-to-back for a full tutoring hour.

Support provided by professional tutors and student tutors for most BC subjects. Students can drop-in at any time during a tutor’s scheduled shift to receive help in courses supported by the tutor. To locate the tutoring schedule for a specific subject, visit the Tutoring Options webpage.

Support provided by Math Department Faculty, professional tutors, and student tutors. Math Lab supports students currently enrolled in select BC Math Department courses.

The Reading Lab provides instruction and resources for reading improvement. Courses for credit are available through the lab, as well as drop-in tutoring for reading assignments.

Support provided by English Department Faculty, professional tutors, and student tutors. Writing Lab provides support for all curricular (class-based) writing and extracurricular (non-class-based) writing.

The ASC has a lending library where students can check out textbooks, calculators, headphones, and more! A wireless, student printer is also available for use, and connects to students’ printzone accounts. Stop by the ASC front desk in D204 for more information.

Online tutoring and other online resources provided by a consortium of West Coast colleges/universities,  including:

  • An Online Writing Lab
  • eQuestions: leave a quick question for tutors
  • Live Tutors in a virtual meeting space
  • Archives of your submitted work
  • A calendar of upcoming tutor shifts
  • A searchable resources repository

Free tutoring resources are available through the King County Library System (KCLS), including:

  • Brainfuse Free Online Tutoring
    • Homework Help: Interact with live tutors in math, science, reading/writing, social studies, PSAT/SAT, ACT, AP and state standardized tests.
    • Skills-Building: Choose your topic to receive real-time help.
    • Personalized eLearning Tools: My File Sharing, My Session Replay, My Tutoring Archive, My Tests Archive, and more!
    • 24-Hour Writing Lab: Submit essays and other forms of writing for constructive feedback.
    • Homework Send Question: Submit homework questions for expert guidance.
    • Adult Learning Center: Access a library of rich adult learning content (GED) and live, professional assistance in resume/cover letter writing, U.S. citizenship prep, MS Office Essential Skills Series, and more!
    • Foreign Language Lab /Spanish-Speaking Support
  • Study Zone Plus: Students in grades K-12 can work online with a tutor or find recharge activities, language and reading support.

  • Library Card Number: BVC + CTCLink ID number (Example: BVC123456789).
  • Library Card Pin: Last four digits of your CTCLink ID number (Example: 6789).
