Sharing Thoughts on Mindfulness

The Fall Quarter 2018 was the first quarter OLS offered a course in Mindfulness. In order to gain valuable feedback on the course for the college and help empower students to voice their successes and celebrate learning, students were asked to reflect on what they’ve learned. Students describe using skills learned in class to practice mindfulness on their own time, absorbing the power of this practice to benefit their days, mental health, and focus. These students talk about having better focus, concentration, help with depression, and practicing response verses reaction. They talk about the long-term and short-term positive effects of mindfulness, while expressing excitement, participation, and understanding in their journey about a new course that is real, relevant, and current.

Select students were asked to be interviewed and share their thoughts about the course. The video below reflects these interviews.
