Place of Internship: Orion Industries

Internship Duties: Complete aerospace manufacturing jobs for Orion, who serves Boeing. Job duties include assembly process, inventory, shipping & receiving and precision machining parts.

Career Pathway: Aerospace engineering

“What I find challenging at my internship is just the number of ways that you can make a mistake but i can overcome this by always having someone else check to see if they find anything obviously wrong before I move to the next step and I always complete one of something and have it checked before I complete all of that thing.”

About Orion Industries:

Founded in 1957, Orion Industries is a mission-driven nonprofit, providing career pathways to
individuals with barriers to employment, such as learning disabilities, low incomes, and mental
health. Orion is a social enterprise that uses operations in its Aerospace Manufacturing Division
and Contact Center Services Division as platforms to teach people job skills through a
combination of classroom instruction and paid training, including mentoring and internship
programs. The divisions also provide sustainable funding for their social mission. In addition,

Occupational & Life Skills Bellevue College (OLSBC) is an associate degree program for students with learning disabilities. In our uniquely supportive skills-based program, students apply academic knowledge through community activities, service learning, and social experiences. Students identify a career pathway, gain marketable, workplace-ready competencies, develop better interpersonal skills, and complete an internship in alignment with their career goals.
