Career Center Canvas Modules

We have created Canvas modules on various career development topics for instructors to use or modify as they choose. 

These modules allow instructors to integrate career development into their courses as they see fit.


Curriculum Development

Our Career Specialists are available to assist you in developing your curriculum, including assignments on career planning and career-related topics.

Here are some examples:

  • Using O*Net to research occupations and labor market information
  • Integrating job-search skills into other coursework (resumes, interviewing, networking)
  • Guiding students through Handshake to find job & internship opportunities posted by employers specifically targeting BC students

Courses for Students

The College has developed an array of career-related classes that are designed to help students select a major or career path and to successfully compete for a job or internship. Here is a list of some of the courses offered:

  • Social Media for Job Search and Personal Branding- EXPRL 240 (late start weekend class)
  • Academic Internship Experience – EXPRL 191, 192, 193, 490, 491 (490/1 are for select majors only)
  • Resume and Interviewing Strategies – EXPRL 220 (late start weekend class)

Network with Employers

An important function of the Center for Career Connections is to establish professional relationships with local employers.

We seek to:

  • Connect employers with faculty and programs at the college
  • Develop new internship opportunities and identify job openings for students
  • Arrange for employer participation in classes, workshops, job fairs, mock interviews, and hiring events
  • Identify potential members of the Program Advisory Committees
  • Increase collaborative projects between the college and employers
  • Identify potential supporters for grant proposals
