Chamber Ensemble (MUSC 165)
The Chamber Ensemble (MUSC 165) provides instrumentalists from a variety of musical backgrounds with opportunities to study and perform chamber music spanning traditional and contemporary repertoire. Through regular rehearsals and collaborative music-making, students develop ensemble performance skills, musical interpretation, and an understanding of the artistic and collaborative practices involved in chamber music.
Students have the opportunity to work closely with the composer-in-residence, gaining practical experience in contemporary music performance and insight into the compositional process. The ensemble also provides opportunities to premiere new works composed specifically for its members, allowing students to participate in the development and performance of new chamber music repertoire.
Meeting Information: The ensemble meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30–1:50 PM in room E129.
