For more than 30 years, Mark Deiter has been studying and playing piano literature. His solo piano work was recently featured in a recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, variation one, for the movie Becoming Truly Human. As a collaborative pianist, he has also performed in a number of recitals, playing a wide range of both classical and popular music. Since 2017 he has partnered with students at Bellevue College by providing tutoring for music theory and piano classes. As a piano teacher, he specializes in helping students develop the art of practicing and most importantly a deep understanding of and connection to the music they are studying.

Mark earned a B.A. from Berea College in piano performance and music composition, and an M.M. from Eastern Kentucky University in music composition. His major teachers have included Dr. Bernardo Scarambone, Lindsey Clavere, and Dr. Javier Clavere. He also participated in a masterclass with Dr. Robert Hatten and did additional lessons with Dr. Paul Wirth, Dr. Zachary Lopes, and Dr. Chih-Long Hu.
