Guitar Ensemble Auditions

Guitar Ensemble

The Guitar Ensemble (MUSC 165) provides a great opportunity for musicians to regularly rehearse together while exploring diverse repertoire that includes both new works and pieces from the tradition. This ensemble experience allows students to develop their skills in a collaborative setting while working with music that spans contemporary compositions and established guitar ensemble literature.

Students will have the chance to work closely with our composer-in-residence, gaining valuable experience in contemporary music-making and invaluable insights into the creative process and composition techniques. A special highlight of the program is premiering new ensemble compositions specifically written by our composer-in-residence, giving students the exciting opportunity to bring fresh works to life while becoming part of the living tradition of guitar music and contributing to the expansion of the guitar ensemble repertoire.

Meeting Information: The ensemble meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30-1:50 PM in room E129.
