Biography:

Stephen Panteleakos is a certified and licensed Athletic Trainer who received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at Seattle Pacific University and his Master of Science in Athletic Training at the University of Idaho. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Athletic Training at Ohio University. Stephen became an Athletic Trainer because it combines his love for helping others, problem solving, and exercise into one career.

As an Athletic Trainer Stephen has worked with diverse patient populations as a civilian contractor with the Department of Defense, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Fifth Avenue Theatre, and ACT Theatre. Additionally, Stephen works privately as an independent Athletic Trainer providing injury rehabilitation and human performance services to youth, masters, and performing arts athletes. Stephen currently serves as a clinical preceptor for Athletic Training students where he combines his love of teaching, educating, and mentoring the next generation of Athletic Trainers, which he hopes to bring to the students at Bellevue College.

As an Educator, Stephen believes that it is a moral obligation of educators to set high standards for their students, while also recognizing the individual nature of learning. Every student has a potential within themselves to do great things and the role of an educator is to foster, facilitate, and mentor students in their own journey to realize that potential and harness it to do great things as professionals, individuals, and community members. He views his role as an educator is to recognize the inherent potential in each student and promote the expression of their learning through nuanced individualized curriculum which students can employ in their academic, professional, and personal growth. In order to grow and flourish, students will be challenged to think critically, embrace academic challenges, and become stakeholders in their educational journey.
