Bellevue College offers certificates designed to prepare students with real life skills and applicable knowledge. We offer certificates in Personal Fitness Trainer, Yoga Instructor, and Wilderness Skills. Our certificates often count towards other academic options within the Health & Wellness program

Personal Fitness Trainer

The Personal Fitness Trainer Certificate is designed to prepare students for a variety of fields in the Health and Wellness Industry. Upon completion of the 19 credit program students may elect to enter the workforce as a Fitness Trainer or go on to pursue a two or four-year degree in Recreation, Health, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science or a Teacher Certification program. The 19 credit curriculum prepares students to test for a Personal Training certification from a national organization such as ACSM, NSCA, ACE, or NASM. Wilderness Skills

The Wilderness Skills Certificate exposes students to a complete education in Northwest recreational opportunities and the planning, risk management and leadership skills to lead these successfully.  Successful students can expect to kayak NW waterways, rock climb, hike and backpack, snowshoe and snow camp in the cascades, lead a challenge course event, learn remote respond skills for back country emergencies all while smiling and learning about themselves and others. Learn more…

The Yoga Instructor Certification program at Bellevue College includes 13-credits of classes and internship to prepare students as qualified Yoga Instructors. This program certifies students to teach Yoga in diverse settings based on the Yoga Alliance, 200-hour approved teaching standard curriculum as well as expanding on broader wellness coaching techniques.
