Biography:

Michelle McRae is a Lead Fitness Technician and an Adjunct PE Faculty member for the Fitness Center at Bellevue College. After completing BC’s Personal Fitness Trainer Certificate program and becoming a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, she enjoyed the program and people of Bellevue College so much she stayed on as staff and an instructor for the PE Life Fitness courses. She holds a BAE from Western Washington University and worked with children and families for years as an early childhood educator, postpartum doula and a high school swim coach prior to joining BC. Now, she finds tremendous satisfaction supporting BC students in finding fitness activities that they enjoy and that enhance their personal pursuits.

Outside of her position at Bellevue College, Michelle is passionate about the swimming world and environmental issues. She is a U.S. Masters Swimming Level 3 coach and an Adult Learn to Swim Instructor, currently coaching children and adults from beginners to competitors. Personally, she has competed in many open water swim races with a number of USMS National Championship titles to her name. When not in the water or at the Fitness Center, you may find her with her family, cross country skiing, gardening, camping or reading.
