The Student Programs Leadership Institute is a year-long cycle of opportunities and is free for students. We foster emerging leaders through the development of leadership competencies and are dedicated to the pillars of social justice, ethical behavior, inclusive practices, adaptive style, and servant leadership.

Leadership Courses

We offer three two-credit Human Development (HD) courses in Leadership which serve as elective credits for the Arts and Sciences transfer degree. Each week in class we cover a different topic with guest speakers, videos and exercises.

Leadership Retreats

Retreats offer an intensive introduction to leadership and team-building, using a mix of traditional and non-traditional exercises. Retreats are held both on and off campus, creating meaningful experiences to feature prominently in student success.

Cookies & Learning Leadership Seminar

“Cookies & Learning” Leadership Seminars are a fun, high quality leadership training geared specifically towards the needs of student organizations. Participants expand their knowledge in areas such as how to recruit members, assertive communication, dealing with emotions, and influencing others.
