Step 1: Apply to Bellevue College
If you are a first time BC student or a previous BC student who is returning to the college after four or more quarters off, you must apply to the college first.
Begin by completing the Bellevue College general admission application. Be sure to click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the application to ensure it is successfully completed.
If you have completed math or English coursework at another institution, you will need to verify or clear prerequisite requirements for these subjects. If you have not completed previous math or English coursework, you will need to complete Math and/or English placement. This is common for students who need to enroll in ENGL 201 or MATH 130 and have not completed ENGL& 101 or MATH 98 at Bellevue College.
All new students must complete the Bellevue College New Student Orientation, which is available online or in person.
Please complete Step 1 at least two weeks prior to the application deadline. Processing time for Student ID numbers is typically 1 -3 business days.
Step 2: Prepare for the Program Application

Submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges. Transcripts must be sent to Student Central at Bellevue College before you complete the Transfer Credit Review Form. Start this process as early as possible. Transcript review can take several weeks.
Upload documentation of any national healthcare certifications you currently hold (for example, ARRT or ARDMS).
- Do not submit CPR, first aid, state licenses, or state certifications.
- Students currently enrolled in an AA imaging program and within 8 months of completing their certification exam may upload a signed document stating:
“I will be completing my certification exam on [date].”
- PDF format is preferred.
- File name format: StudentName_CertificationName.pdf
In addition, you must formally submit your license or certification through Bellevue College’s Academic Credit for Prior Learning request form. Select “Healthcare Certificate or License” as the credit type.
Submit a personal statement (maximum 500 words) addressing the following:
- Your relevant work experience
- Your personal and professional goals
- Unique attributes you would bring to the program
- Challenges or hardships you have overcome
- How your experiences and values demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity, and how they prepare you to contribute to Bellevue College, the healthcare field, and the broader community
Upload your most recent CV or résumé, showing your current employer, or your most recent employer if you are not currently working
Upload copies of your unofficial transcripts in addition to submitting a Transfer Credit Review request to Bellevue College.
Provide at least two professional or academic recommendations.
- One recommender must be a current or former supervisor.
- Evaluations are completed in the Supporting Information section of the CommonApp portal under Evaluations. Recommendations do not need to be submitted before you complete your application. Only the evaluator’s name and contact information are required at the time of submission. Follow-up with evaluators will occur after the application is submitted.
The application fee for the Radiation & Imaging Sciences program is $50. Payment is required at the time of application submission. Please have your payment method ready before beginning the application.
Step 3: Apply to the Program

Radiation & Imaging Sciences (RAIS) is a selective admission program of Bellevue College. RAIS Program uses the Common App system to manage all program applications.

Applying for Additional Programs
Some students choose to apply to more than one program within the Health Sciences, Education, and Wellness Institute. For example, you may apply to multiple programs such as Ultrasound Technology, Radiation Therapy, Radiologic Technology, or Neurodiagnostic Technology.
If you apply to more than one program:
- You must submit a separate application for each program.
- You must pay an application fee for each application.
Each program has its own admission requirements, application process, and deadlines. It is your responsibility to ensure that each application is complete and submitted by the specified deadline.
