Biography:

Dr. Hadise Khaniyan is currently a full-time, Assistant Professor at Bellevue College. She has an undergraduate degree in Nursing and a master’s degree in Community Health Nursing. She received her Ph.D. in Exercise and Health Sciences with an emphasis on health promotion and behavior change from University of Massachusetts Boston.  

She has been working as a researcher and an instructor in the health promotion field since 2009. She is most interested in theoretical understanding of human behaviors that affect health, and the application of that knowledge to promote effective health behavior change at multiple levels (e.g., individual and community).  

Dr. Khaniyan has a passion for working with all populations of students, while providing each with the best possible learning experience. She believes each person has a unique greatness and unlimited potential locked inside themselves. It is her life’s mission to help those she works with believe in this potential and unleash it on the world. It is very important for her to provide a classroom environment where students are encouraged to express their own ideas and participate in their educational experience.  

She is a nature lover. In her spare time, she enjoys meditation in nature, outdoor activities and reading.
