EcoVerse: a location-based AR experience

EcoAR

At the intersection of technology and ecology, we’ve developed EcoVerse, a location-based Augmented Reality (AR) experience created with Adobe Aero’s Geospatial Creator. This immersive platform invites users to engage with environmental sustainability efforts via an interactive narrative, all through the lens of their smartphones.

Creating an Immersive Narrative:
Our journey begins with crafting the digital artifacts that embody our story. We envisioned a guided tour around a corporate structure, where, through AR, participants learn about various sustainability endeavors. Using Blender, we produced virtual signposts and immersive elements, including a panoramic sphere, for an enriched educational experience.

Geo-Spatial Integration and Interaction:
These digital elements were then seamlessly integrated into Adobe Aero, allowing for precise geo-tagging of the 3D objects. To enrich the exploratory walk, we incorporated interactive triggers that activate vocal narratives, providing context and information at each step.

Collaborative Development Across Continents:
The dynamic phase of development and on-location testing showcased our global collaboration. Maria Sanchez, orchestrating creation from Bogotá, Colombia, and Paolo Tosolini, conducting live testing at the Microsoft campus in Redmond, WA, exemplified our iterative approach. Utilizing the Aero Viewer on his iPhone, Paolo provided instantaneous feedback to Maria, who could adjust and update the AR landscape within minutes. This swift exchange was facilitated through a live Facetime session, allowing Maria to visually confirm the real-world impact of her digital enhancements.
