WELCOME TO THE FACULTY POST

The Bellevue College ctcLink Team is busy preparing for faculty to go live on Nov. 12. The intent of these newsletters, directed specifically at faculty during the transition, are to keep you informed of training sessions, need-to-know functions of ctcLink, and areas of support as they are developed.

PATIENCE, PLEASE

As we begin our big move to ctcLink, we ask for your continued patience and generosity of spirit. Many people have been working to prepare for this launch for many, many months. This project has many intricate pieces that touch nearly all of our systems in one way or another.

We all want this transition to be easy and as flawless as we can make it. There is a great deal of pressure to have it work perfectly and to know every answer on day one. With a project this large and all-encompassing, that doesn’t always happen.

We will likely encounter problems or glitches, and we may not have all the answers at first. We ask that you be patient and generous with yourself and others as we all learn to use ctcLink together.

FACULTY ADVOCATES

Faculty advocates have been assigned to help with the transition. The team includes:

  • Jerimiah Allen
  • Erica Ferreri
  • Audrey Hue

In the upcoming weeks and over the next two quarters, the team will be sending out emails that will address faculty specific tasks within ctcLink.

In addition, the faculty advocates will provide ctcLink specific tools that faculty can use to help students through this transition. They will also host live online support for faculty as well as a ctcLink specific email address to help answer your questions.

The team will conduct live Zoom sessions the week before the faculty go-live date and via email. Links will be provided. Also, live support will be available during the critical weeks during and after the Go-Live date to assist you with the transition. Live support will be available five days a week from Nov. 12-19.

Do you have questions? Email your faculty advocates here.

PREPARING STUDENTS

There are any number of things you can do to prepare students for the transition to ctcLink, but here are two great suggestions:

  • Post the forthcoming student announcement and assignment in Canvas for your students. These resources will be available closer to the student Go-Live date.

PREPARING YOURSELF

If you’re interested in how faculty will use ctcLink, two overview courses are offered in Canvas. These courses cover generic, state- wide ctcLink functionality.

  • ES100 HCM Employee Self-Service
  • CF100 Faculty Self-Service

Register at the SBCTC site. You’ll receive an email linking to the courses in Canvas.

Also, check out the BC ctcLink website faculty resource
page
,
which will host training documents and videos once ctcLink is live for faculty.

If you have questions, please email your faculty advocates. And if you have suggestions on improving this email, we would enjoy hearing from you. Contact Yves Martin, Communications Manager, at: yves.martin@bellevuecollege.edu.
