RN-BSN Admissions Timeline

It takes planning and preparation to apply to an RN-BSN program. Applicants may be finishing up an ADN program, just received their license, or have been working as an RN for years. With that in mind, we have put together a sample timeline for applying to the Bellevue College RN-BSN program. Note that the only hard deadline is to apply before your desired start quarter, but preparing your requirements well in advance of the application will ensure that you do not run into any surprises!

Timeline

Anytime before applying

  • Current RNs
    • Complete your ADN program
    • Pass the NCLEX
    • Obtain RN license
  • ADN Students and Recent ADN Graduates
    • Plan time to take the NCLEX

6 months before applying

  • Decide which quarter(s) you would like to apply for.
  • Take Statistics course, if not already taken.

2 months before applying

  • Start working on your personal statement.
  • Reach out to mentors, teachers, supervisors, or other references to ask for recommendation.

1-2 months before priority deadline

  • Begin filling out NursingCAS application
  • Designate references on your application.
  • Work on personal statement.
  • Obtain PDFs of unofficial transcripts from all attended colleges
    • Obtain PDFs of any other needed documentation

3-5 weeks before priority deadline

  • Finish filling out NursingCAS application.
    • Attach all required documents.
      • Finish and read over your personal statement before attachment.
    • Make sure 3 evaluators have been designated.
    • Double check that everything is complete and accurate.
    • Check on status of recommendations. Remind any missing references to finish their evaluations.
  • Submit NursingCAS application
  • Send any last-minute application questions to rnbsn@bellevuecollege.edu

1-2 weeks before priority deadline
