Saida Dahir is a 20-year-old Somali-American Muslim from South Salt Lake City who came to the U.S. as a child refugee. She is an experienced writer, poet, and content creator. She is a former UNICEF Youth Representative, Gifford Courage Fellow, and ACLU Intern. Saida works on a variety of issues including immigration reform, police accountability, and immigration rights. She is a published poet and released her debut Spoken Word Album, The Walking Stereotype last year. Her album was featured on the Grammys, BBC, NPR, and more. Saida is currently a second-year majoring in Media Studies and History at the University of California, Berkeley.
