LOGGING INTO CTCLINK

Employees are noticing a different view when logging in using the ctcLink button on BC’s homepage. The reason is that the link leads to the mobile application, which allows students to access ctcLink and various BC resources.

In order to bypass the mobile view, use myaccount.ctcLink.us. This will allow you to go directly to the login.

Remember, that staff and faculty can also login from the Resources for Faculty & Staff page. We recommend bookmarking the above linked page for easy and regular sign-ins.

CTCLINK MOBILE APP – TILES MISSING?
PASSWORD NOT WORKING?

This can occur if you use the ctcLink mobile app link on the BC student homepage. Many ctcLink Gateway apps such as Faculty Center, Employee Self Service, etc. are not compatible with the mobile app. Additionally, users who do not log out completely from the mobile version of the site may be logged back into the mobile site automatically.

To remedy this, we recommend:

Log back in to ctcLink and look for the “log out” button or link (this location will vary depending on where you are on the site).

After logging out, clear your cache (see below). Close all instances of your browser.

Most importantly – Log in using myaccount.ctcLink.us instead of the BC student homepage.

CLEARING YOUR CACHE

ctcLink uses a large number of cookies which help the application “remember” your preferences and make the site run more smoothly, but these can fill up your cache (a behind-the-scenes repository of website data) and cause problems when logging in.

One known symptom of this is your password may no longer work. Here are some links to instructions for clearing your cache using the most common browsers:

  • For Apple Safari
  • For Microsoft Edge
  • For Mozilla FireFox
  • For Google Chrome

Another workaround for cookie management is to open an “incognito” or “private browser” window, because the cache will be automatically cleared when you close the window out.

Alternatively, you can use a separate browser just for
ctcLink (separate from Canvas or other work-related browsing).

In addition, make certain that your operating system and browser are up-to-date. This is good practice for security purposes, as well.

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS & ASSIGNMENTS

We encourage you to use the ctcLink student announcement and assignment reminding students to activate their ctcLink IDs.

The announcement can be found on the ctcLink Faculty webpage, under “Helping Students Transition to ctcLink.”

Faculty can find the student assignment by searching for the BC ctcLink Student Assignment in Canvas Commons. We suggest adding a due date of November 23. Here are instructions how to import the assignment from Commons.

A second assignment was developed to help students search for and enroll in winter classes. Faculty can find the student assignment by searching BC ctcLink Student Assignment 2 (Class Search and Enrollment) in Canvas Commons. We suggest adding a due date of November 30.

CLASS PERMISSION/
PERMISSION CODES

The old permission/entry codes are now part of a single process called Class Permissions.

A presentation on the process will be held Nov. 23 from 10 – 10:45 a.m. Click here to join the Zoom meeting.

This meeting will be recorded and the recording will be posted to the BC ctcLink website.

SUBMITTING GRADES

The Faculty Advocates will conduct several walkthroughs for submitting grades during the week that grade rosters become active and on the day that grades are due (Dec. 20).
