Begin Your Bachelor’s Degree Journey: Transfer Associate Degrees (2+2 Model)

Start your bachelor’s degree by completing the first two years at Bellevue College. Focus on general education and pre-major courses, then transfer to a university anywhere in the U.S. to finish the remaining two years and earn your bachelor’s degree. Duration: Typically 2 years, though it may vary depending on the specific program.

The following programs are eligible for I-20 issuance for both current and future F-1 students.

Students can request a conditional admissions letter for one school from the list above when they apply to Bellevue College.

Admission is not guaranteed, students must meet the conditions listed in their acceptance letter and meet application deadlines. Conditional admission to an institution does not include admission to a selective admission program.

For Career-Focused Students: Professional and Technical Associate Programs

Begin your specialized education at Bellevue College with our professional and technical associate programs. These programs generally lead directly into one of our bachelor’s programs, allowing completion of an associate’s and bachelor’s degree in 4 years.

The following programs are eligible for I-20 issuance for both current and future F-1 students.

Credit Enrollment for F-1 International Students:

  • Requirement: Enroll in at least 12 credits per quarter.
  • Academic Year Structure: Three required quarters—fall, winter, and spring.

Quarter Length:

  • Fall, Winter, Spring: Approximately 11 weeks each.
  • Summer: About 8 weeks. Note that the amount of material covered is equivalent to other quarters.

Apply through the International Student Portal (click here) by our due dates (click here)

New applicants should click “New User” at the bottom of the portal page and save their email and password.

  1. Completed online application form (name, contact information, etc.)
  2. Transcripts from the last institution attended (name, classes, grades)
  3. Photo or copy of a valid passport photo page
  4. Valid proof of English language proficiency
  5. Bank statement dated within the last 6 months, showing at least $29,583 USD
  6. $50 USD non-refundable application fee paid online
  7. Digitally signed signature document
  8. Click ‘Submit Application’ at the top of the page to have your application reviewed.

Students who are underage (16 or 17) must submit additional documents to the International Student Portal:

  • Students must be at least 16 years old by the first day of classes
  • A completed and signed Limited Power-of-Attorney for Healthcare Purpose form
  • A completed and signed Attorney-in-Fact form
  • Underage students who have already graduated from a high school in their home country and seek direct admission to the college level program must submit proof of high school completion (e.g., diploma, IGCSE, O-level exam results, or an expected graduation letter from a school official).

Students transferring from another U.S. institution must submit additional documents to the International Student Portal:

Submit a completed application at least two weeks before your grace period ends.

Students must submit additional documents to the International Student Portal for each dependent:

  • A copy of each F-2 dependent’s passport photo page (showing expiration date).
  • Add $5,000 USD per dependent to the bank statement.

Acceptance packets can be emailed for free or mailed internationally at the student’s expense. To use express mail, pay via eShipGlobal and upload the air bill with full mailing address to the International Student Portal.

A valid placement result from another college into the equivalent of BC’s English 101

  • Successful completion of Advanced (C1) level at Kaplan.
  • Successful completion of Level 6 at California Language Academy.
  • Successful completion of Advanced (C1-1) level at EF International Language Schools, Inc.

  • If SAT or ACT taken within the last five years or PSAT taken within the last two years
  • SAT or PSAT Reading/Writing score of 480 or higher
  • ACT Composite score of 22 or higher

  • 3 (places into English 101 at BC(*))
  • (*) Official exam result issued by the testing company is required for the placement into English 101.
