Admission Process

Follow the instructions below to apply for the Running Start Program. Carefully choose the quarter you plan to begin.

If you are currently enrolled in Bellevue College as a Running Start student do not reapply. Contact our office regarding questions about this.

Final admission deadline for Spring 2020 | March 31, 2020

Next Step: Follow the directions you receive via email from runningstartnewstudent@bellevuecollege.edu Complete all steps by the deadlines.

Once our office receives your step one and step two information and process it, you will receive an email with your Bellevue College Student Identification Number (SID), next admissions steps, and deadlines. It is extremely important that you provide a valid e-mail address on your Declaration of Intent for Running Start.  Often our email notifications gets directed to your spam and junk folder, so be sure to check there too. All communication will be sent to the email provided on your Declaration of Intent for Running Start until the student attends the Running Start New Student Orientation Registration session.

After you complete step one and step two you should receive two emails. One from the college general admission office and a second email containing directions from runningstartnewstudent@bellevuecollege.edu, these specific instructions from runningstartnewstudent@bellevuecollege.edu contain the directions and correct steps for you to be a Running Start Student.

Final Step: Sign up for the Running Start New Student Orientation Registration Session

All students that have completed the steps and requirements to be in the Running Start Program will be invited to signup for a New Student Orientation Registration Sessions. Once a student completes all steps outlined in the email from runningstartnewstudent@bellevuecollege.edu then and only then will the student be invited.

Important notes regarding the New Student Orientation Registration Session:

  • This session is mandatory to complete the Running Start admission process
  • Students first opportunity to register for classes will be at this session
  • Students will be able to register after and at the session assuming the quarter has not started yet and required paperwork is submitted and processed.
  • Only the student may attend. Accommodations should be handled before attending the session. Feel free to email our office to request special accommodations at runningstartnewstudent@bellevuecollege.edu

Important Notes and Tips While Applying:

Placement:

English placement scores need to be entered into our system for each applicant. The student can either submit proper documents to Testing and Placement Services or come take the assessment. Full details and instructions are outlined in the email. Questions regarding placement and testing should be directed to Testing and Placement Services with the contact info below.

Enrollment in specific college courses cannot be guaranteed – even if the classes are needed to fulfill district high school graduation requirements.

All students are required to follow the same procedures.

Registration into classes is dependent on completing all admission steps timely and submitting the required documentation by the suggested deadlines. Students attending the program must follow Bellevue College policies and procedures regarding registration which will be covered during the student’s Running Start New Student Orientation Registration session.

You will register for classes during your registration | orientation session you signed up for

  • Payment for classes and fees need to be paid immediately to avoid classes dropped for nonpayment – Running Start is not totally free – all students will have an amount due on their account. Invoices are not mailed.
