VOL. 8 – SEPTEMBER 7, 2021

The truest and noblest gift for yourself is personal development.

Lailah Gifty Akita

Welcome back from the long weekend. We hope you spent a fun, relaxing time with family and friends.

We have three topics in this issue of Coach: coming training topics, tips for managing change and ctcLink employment possibilities.

There’s no doubt about it – the transition to ctcLink means that our day-to-day work life will be impacted. Not to worry. We have the Bellevue College community covered.

Here are just a few of the training videos and handouts coming your way over the next few weeks:

  • Activating your account
  • How to submit timesheets
  • How to navigate faculty center
  • How to register for classes

If there’s one thing you can always rely on, it is change. Since you can’t avoid it, why not work to take control of it?

In order to help prepare yourself and others, Coach is presenting a pair of videos from the site, LinkedIn. They are quick, to-the-point, and worth your time.

In this fifteen-minute course from change management expert Dr. Eric Zackrison, learn how to go with the flow and wield organizational change to your advantage. Gain strategies for how to adapt quickly, tips on what is and isn’t in your control, and advice for how to show your bosses that you are a can-do, make-it-happen team player.

Some of the topics covered by Zackrison include:

  • Embracing the change
  • Understanding where change comes from
  • Locus of control
  • Focusing on the future
  • Finding your voice

Great leaders can create transformation within themselves and their teams, in the form of pursuing services and missions that matter.

Leadership coach and author Henna Inam’s course is designed to help leaders create cultures of innovation, engagement, and growth. Inam shares specific practices any leader, or aspiring leader, can leverage to discover values, identify a purpose, and define a vision. Learn how to lead with integrity and empower others to be their best.

Some of the topics covered by Inam include:

  • Leading with a purposeful vision for change
  • Roel-model integrity
  • Staying curious in order to inspire innovation
  • Empowering individuals to be their best

LinkedIn Learning is a Bellevue College licensed resource that offers an array of online training online. This amazing resource is available to all students and employees with current Bellevue College login credentials.

We’re hiring to support staff and students throughout the ctcLink transition. Current part-time employees are encouraged to apply to supplement their current hours. Students and faculty, too!

Training will be provided. Click here for details.

The ctcLink website is a great place for additional information. Again, we are currently upgrading the site to provide the best possible experience for our users.
