Child Study Lab Four Year Olds II 3 Cr.

Description:

Provides education and personal exploration opportunities for parenting the young child ages four through five years old. Students will explore the cognitive, emotional, social and physical development of the young child through research based information, discussion, and observation. Students will observe and practice models of child guidance practices and techniques in the laboratory classrooms.

Outcomes:

After completing this class, students should be able to:

  • Observe children in the lab class in order to identify learning skills.
  • Enhance children’s playful learning through interactions with adults and peers in the teaching environment of the preschool laboratory classroom.
  • Recognize the importance of choosing effective words and phrases to use with children.
  • Use age appropriate guidance for temperamental characteristics of individual child.
