Many of our 17 unique programs offer opportunities to obtain a variety of degrees and certificates to meet the most critical workforce needs in the region, Washington state and the nation. Each focuses on providing excellent education and training for many professions in healthcare, education, and wellness.

Health Sciences

Allied Health programs train you for positions that are adaptable and applicable in both the in-person and remote (telehealth) environments in a wide range of settings, including inpatient and outpatient and across many medical specialties. All Allied Health programs are open enrollment.

The best way to accomplish your goals for the Allied Health disciplines, is to read through the programs of interest to you, develop both short term and long term goals, and meet with an advisor to establish your plan. The following pages describe the current courses, programs, certificates and degree offered by the Allied Health department.

The Associates of Applied Science – Transfer degree (AAS-T), with Allied Health focus; combines any of the Allied Health certificate programs with college based general education requirements and electives in order to achieve an associates degree at Bellevue College

BC’s Healthcare Informatics program prepares individuals to successfully compete for jobs in the rapidly growing field of healthcare informatics, which uses information technology to assess and improve healthcare services. Our program is fully online, cutting-edge, and affordable. We offer a bachelor of applied science degree in healthcare informatics as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in healthcare informatics.

While the Healthcare Informatics Program accepts a wide range of associate’s degrees from regionally accredited institutions, we recommend some associate’s degrees as particularly well-suited foundations for the Healthcare Informatics BAS degree.

Have an associate’s degree, some college credits, or just starting your college journey? The Healthcare Informatics Bachelor of Applied Science is ideal for students considering their first bachelor’s degree or those coming from industries outside of healthcare or IT who are interested in retraining.

Already have a bachelor’s degree and are working in a healthcare or technology field? The Healthcare Informatics Certificate of Achievement is for current healthcare or technology professionals who want to transition to the field of informatics.

The Healthcare Management & Leadership BAS program is the second part of a 2+2 structure. Meaning, students must complete an Associate’s degree (or equivalent 90 credits) before being eligible for admission. Bellevue College offers numerous academic options designed to meet the needs of students whether looking to enter into the field through an associates degree, obtain advanced technical skills through advanced certificates, or complete a bachelors degree to become a Healthcare Administrator.

Students looking to enter the healthcare management profession must first complete an Associates Degree in healthcare or business. Bellevue College offers several associate degrees that will satisfy the requirement to obtain a Healthcare Management & Leadership BAS degree. Many of these programs take 18 – 24 months, full-time, to complete.

Bellevue College offers several Bachelors of Applied Science degree options for students who are interested in completing a healthcare relate bachelors degree. These degree completion options are designed to prepare professionals for entrance to mid-level management positions in the healthcare field. This degree completion is called a 2+2 model meaning you come in with a 2 year degree (from any regionally accredited institution) and complete your last 2 years at Bellevue College to earn your 4 year Bachelors degree

Current imaging professionals in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy seeking to further their career have several options to earn an advanced degree right here at Bellevue College! These programs provide applicable skills and knowledge to prepare imaging professionals in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy for advanced post-primary modalities, management positions and continued education into masters level programs. Bellevue College’s Nursing programs build upon the college’s mission of preparing students for life-long learning by offering a high-quality, flexible, and accessible education. Our programs are responsive to the changing needs of the community, and are representative of the diverse demographics of the college. The nursing program provides full and equal access to opportunities for educational advancement.

Certified nursing assistants have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide daily care to patients and clients who are unable to care for themselves. Certification can be used as a stepping stone into nursing or other healthcare professions.

Our program prepares students for beginning level clinical practice as Registered Nurses through an associate degree in nursing. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). You must have your Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC), or Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to apply for this program.

The Bellevue College RN to BSN program builds upon the academic foundations and experience of the Associate Degree prepared nurse. You must be a registered nurse (RN) in order to apply for this program. The Essentials of Baccalaureate Education in Nursing is the basic foundation of the RN to BSN program.

Education

If you are in search for a meaningful career guiding the educational development of young children, you’ve found the right place!  Bellevue Colleges’ Early Learning Teacher Education Program will provide you with the knowledge, skill and education required to succeed in the field of Early Learning.  Early Childhood education focuses on positive learning and developmental experiences for infants, toddlers, preschool and primary age children.

Our children’s programs are play-based, which research tells us is the most effective way for young children to learn. Diverse learning experiences build the foundations for literacy, math, science, art and music. They also support the development of physical agility, creativity, emotional intelligence and social skills.

Wellness

Bellevue College Health & Physical Education aims to educate and empower students to adopt life-long healthy behaviors and physical activity. Our program offers courses in Health Education, Physical Education, and Physical Activities.

The Health Promotion and Education Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree at Bellevue College prepares students to develop, implement, and manage health promotion programs for individuals, communities, and organizations. Our mission is to promote wellness and health literacy, improve health equity, prevent injuries, infectious and chronic disease.
