For the ninth straight year in a row, Bellevue College’s DECA team was recognized as national champions at the Collegiate DECA International Career Development Conference held April 15-18 in Orlando, FL. The competitive event gives students and teams the chance to test their business savvy before a panel of experts that judge presentations in fields like marketing, business, finance, hospitality and entrepreneurship.

BC students Yuliya Pankiv and Santiago Trujillo took first place in the Emerging Technologies/Digital Marketing event, and other medalists included Clementine Cimetiere who took third place in Fashion Marketing, and Alea Kular and Santiago Trujillo who took third place in Sports & Entertainment Marketing. And of the 26 students who represented Bellevue College in the competition, 23 went on to advance to the final round.

“Our students’ ability to consistently win against four-year colleges reflects both the strength of our program and the excellence of our students,” said Kyle Barber, program chair for the college’s Digital Marketing Management program and DECA faculty advisor. “I’m really proud of what they have accomplished.”
