Bellevue College President Dr. David May

Dear Bellevue College community,

With Bellevue College’s operations back to normal this week, I want you to know how grateful I am to be in community with you all. The events of the past week have shown us just how resilient we all are. From power outages affecting student housing to round-the-clock work from essential employees, our collective humanity was tested, and our spirit of perseverance and generosity prevailed.

I appreciate the countless ways you have supported one another, demonstrating our shared commitment to ensuring Bellevue College’s success in an unprecedented situation. I recognize that many of us faced disruptions from suspended operations. But we have shown that in the face of adversity we can emerge stronger, and more united.

Even so, we are all deserving of rest. I hope that you are able to take some time to recharge, gather with loved ones, and reflect on the good in your life. Without you, Bellevue College would not be what it is. I truly believe it’s the people that make this institution so special and, for that – for you – I am incredibly thankful.

Wishing you and your loved one’s relaxation and warmth in a powered home,

Dr. David May
