July 2023

Bellevue College President David May announced the search for a Vice President of Student Affairs would commence in Fall Quarter 2023.

October 2023

EQU Advisors was selected as the executive search firm to assist Bellevue College in the search process.

The members of the Vice President of Student Affairs Screening Committee and the timeline for the search are announced.

November 2023

EQU Advisors and the Vice President of Student Affairs Screening Committee facilitated a written survey and listening session open forums to solicit input from the Bellevue College community on the vice president search.

December 2023

The search went live. The Search Profile was posted on the Bellevue College and EQU Advisors websites. Local, state-wide, and national recruitment and national advertising began.

March 8, 2024

Target date for applications (open until filled).

Late March/Early April 2024

The Vice President of Student Affairs Screening Committee conducted confidential virtual interviews with semi-finalists. Committee deliberated and provided a recommendation of 3-4 finalists to the president.

April 2024

Finalists were invited for on-campus interviews with the Bellevue College community. After finalist interviews, stakeholder feedback was collected and reviewed by the president.

Late April/Early May 2024

President David May selected Dr. Judith Hernández Chapar as the next Vice President of Student Affairs of Bellevue College.
