When and Where are Exploring Pathways Events Going to be Held in Fall Quarter?
Please mark your calendars for the Fall Exploring Pathways event, which will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Cafeteria with the Business, Technology & Data, Humanities & Communication, Social Sciences, Public Service & Community Engagement, Visual & Performing Arts, Health Sciences, and Transitional Studies Pathways represented. The STEM Exploring Pathways event will be held October 22, 2025 from 2:30 to 4 PM in the S-building.

Exploring Academic and Career Pathways Workshop

Description: Are you exploring careers? Not sure what academic pathway to choose? Come to this workshop to:
- Explore best-fit careers and academic programs through hands-on activities and a brief interest self-assessment
- Feel more confident heading into tomorrow’s Exploring Pathways Event
- Meet advisors and career center staff who are here to help!

Writing a Personal Statement Workshop
Date & time: October 21, 12:30-1:30 PM

Description: Join Carli Yip, Writing Lab Instructor at the Academic Success Center, for a hands-on workshop on how to write an effective personal statement for scholarships or academic applications. This personal statement workshop will cover how to address common prompts for students transferring to 4-year programs or universities. Emphasis will be on how to use strong narratives to SHOW who you are and WHY you are a good fit for the program or school. Resources for how to revise your drafts will also be provided.

Peers on the Pathways: Student Experiences, Stories, and Tips

Description: Get ready for Exploring Pathways! Learn how the event works, check out the event map, and build confidence by working in groups to identify your areas of interest and brainstorm the best questions to ask pathway representatives.
- Hear from former English Language Institute and ELA students who are now in college classes in many different pathways. They’ll share their college experiences, tips, and what they wish they had known before starting.
- Open to all students, but especially helpful for English language learners!
