Welcome to spring quarter! As we embrace what will be a busy and energizing few months, I’d like to take a moment to recognize the great work of our Office of Sustainability for creating an engaging Earth Month series of events, workshops, lectures, and other programming.

Dear Bellevue College community,

Welcome to spring quarter! As we embrace what will be a busy and energizing few months, I’d like to take a moment to recognize the great work of our Office of Sustainability for creating an engaging Earth Month series of events, workshops, lectures, and other programming.

Some of you may know that Bellevue College has a Climate Action Plan with goals to become carbon neutral by 2050. As an avid hiker, skier, and outdoors lover myself, I believe in protecting the environment and doing my part to create a healthier world for future generations. Here at Bellevue College, we have the opportunity to learn what we can do at an individual level to promote clean air and water by reducing, reusing, and recycling. And as an Eastside college that welcomes thousands of people to campus each day, our collective impact can ripple across the region. Please take some time this April to attend an Earth Month event and learn what you can to do your part.

I’m also happy to report we are doing well with spring quarter enrollment targets. As of writing this, we have 10,038 full-time equivalent (FTE) students enrolled in classes. Staff and faculty can check enrollment data in our online dashboard [BC employee log-in required].

This quarter, college leadership and I have many projects, activities, and goals we’re working on for our institution. Strategic and budget planning remain at the forefront. The quarter will culminate with a Year End Celebration for faculty and staff on June 4 and Commencement for our 2025 graduating class on June 20. Spring quarter is notoriously busy but also fulfilling. It is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our entire community.

Thank you for continuing to do the important work you do and for learning all you can.

In community,

Dr. David May

Bellevue College President
