Geology, AAS-DTA

Do you have an interest in earthquakes, volcanoes, and the rocks you see around you? Have you ever wondered what Earth was like millions of years ago? Do you ever wonder what shapes the mountains and oceans of our planet? Geological science is the study of the earth to understand its history and the physical processes that shape Earth’s surface and interior. A degree in geology prepares you for many geoscience careers including work in academic research, environmental fields, petroleum and mining, and construction consulting. Either the general associate degree (AAS-DTA) or the Science, Track I pathway are suitable for students interested in geology. Consult with an advisor to see which pathway fits your possible transfer schools best!

Course Maps

A course map is a quick guide to help students figure out which courses to take each quarter. Course maps were written by BC faculty, who have used their expertise to recommend specific courses students can take to achieve their academic or career goals. Students should meet with an advisor to learn more.
