Creating a YouTube Channel

With accessibility issues taking center stage in our courses, faculty are looking for the simplest, fastest way to add closed captioning to self-produced instructional videos. YouTube can both host your instructional videos and provide rudimentary closed captions. The captions will need to be edited and that will be the topic of another post.

There is a helpful video at Lynda.com that will walk you through the steps necessary to create your channel: Creating a YouTube channel. If you would like hands-on instruction, visit the instructional designers in the eLearning Center in D140. The center is staffed from 9 – 5 Monday through Friday. Several of us have used YouTube for years to host our instructional videos. We can help you set up the channel and give advice on setting the privacy and default upload options.
