This fall, power up your teaching game with our high-impact microlearning sessions designed to help you unlock new tools, tech, and teaching strategies—one quick session at a time. Throughout October, each week unveils a new “level” packed with practical tips, fresh ideas, and small but mighty upgrades you can use right away in your courses.
Sessions run 30 to 45 minutes and are offered at various times to fit your schedule. Can’t make it live? No problem, signup anyways and the recordings and materials will be available in our dedicated Canvas course for all registered participants.

Creating Narrative Presentations with 360-Degree Images

Adding interactive 360-degree videos and images to your Canvas course is just a few clicks away. In this session, faculty will explore the use of 360 images and videos for online learning. We will walk through the process of adding the content to your course, and we will introduce tools for additional interactivity. We will also provide a short introduction on how to use a 360-degree camera to create original content.

Bring your classroom to life with Spatial.io

In this session, faculty will get hands-on experience with Spatial.io, a platform that makes it easy to create and explore immersive virtual environments. We’ll walk through simple ways to set up a space, add interactive elements, and think about practical teaching applications. This is a fun, low-barrier introduction to XR that shows how immersive spaces can enhance engagement and collaboration.

Panopto has several features for making lecture videos engaging and easy to navigate. In this session, you will learn how to add interactive quizzes and chapters to your videos. We will also explore accessibility features on the student side to help you create videos that guide students through your content and help them retain information seamlessly. Finally, we will look at grading options for setting up Panopto video assignments.

PowerUp Your Content with H5P Smart Import

Are you interested in adding low-stakes engagement opportunities to your Canvas pages to help your students check their understanding and retain knowledge? The Smart Import AI tool in H5P can create flip-cards, quiz questions, fill-in-the-blank activities, interactive videos, and more, automatically from your Canvas content. These assets can be added to your course as graded or ungraded assignments, allowing you to track your students’ understanding of concepts.

You’ll learn how to add subtle styling with CSS, use screen-reader-only tags to improve accessibility, fix common HTML issues like empty links, and understand how Cidi Labs DesignPLUS blocks affect your code. We’ll also cover quick “HTML hygiene” tips to keep your pages clean, consistent, and easy to maintain — no advanced coding skills required!
