Bellevue College Night at the Mariners to Bring Bulldogs, Alumni Together 

Alumni, students, faculty, friends, community members, college employees, and anyone who has a connection to Bellevue College, is invited to celebrate Bellevue College Night at the Mariners at 6:40 PM on Saturday, Sept. 13 at T-Mobile Park. The Seattle Mariners will take on the Los Angeles Angels. 

At an affordable price, attendees can expect to enjoy the game with others in the community and will receive a limited-edition Mariners-themed Bellevue College T-shirt, all while supporting Bellevue College students. For every ticket sold, $5 will be donated to the Bellevue College Foundation, which provides scholarships and emergency funding to students, making higher education more accessible and affordable.  

“This event is one of the most inclusive ways to invite Bulldogs of all ages, sports fans, and non-sports fans together,” Thomas Duke, Director of Alumni Relations and Programs at Bellevue College, said. “It’s an opportunity to enjoy the game, share in the excitement in what’s happening during this special Mariners season, and cap off an amazing summer in the Northwest.” 

While the event is open to everyone, Duke is especially excited about the opportunity to reengage Bellevue College alumni and share more about the newly relaunched Alumni Association.  

“Unfortunately, over the years, we’ve lost contact with Bellevue College alumni, so participating in a highly visible event and having this moment at the Mariners gives us a great opportunity to reconnect with alumni,” Duke said. “There is also going to be a mix of students, or what I like to refer to as our ‘future alumni,’ faculty, staff, and members of the college administration that alumni might like the chance to see again, too.” 

In addition to alumni-focused and community-centric events, the Alumni Association is preparing to launch its Alumni Leadership Council, which will establish the first all-alumni-based advisory board at Bellevue College. The council will be connected to the Bellevue College Foundation Board of Directors and will provide unique alumni insight to the priorities and goals of the Foundation and the college as a whole.  

“The goal is to provide alignment between our alumni and community by bringing their voice into the overall planning and future of Bellevue College and the success of future alumni,” Duke said, noting that there are still some open spots on the council.  

Outside of the council, the Alumni Association aims to provide Bellevue College alumni with career resources and professional development, networking and volunteer opportunities, and community connection with other alumni. From perks, such as discounts at the Bellevue College Bookstore, to connection through a book club, the Alumni Association is a program with multiple touch points and possibilities.

The council will meet from 4-5 PM on the third Tuesday of the month about five times a year in both hybrid and in-person meetings.
