Focus areas are specific areas of emphasis within a pathway, which allow students to explore coursework and develop useful skills for their desired careers.

Art

The Art Department serves the students and the community by advancing awareness, understanding and technical skills in the visual language of art and design. This pathway offers a strong foundation program in the art basics, including courses in two- and three-dimensional design, drawing and art history.

Digital Media Arts

This focus area provides students with the opportunity to gain fundamental skills in the application of digital tools to video, games, animations, design and graphics in a project-based, hands-on environment. A range of elective options supports individual educational and employment goals. Digital media appears in nearly all visual marketing, entertainment, and communication industries.

Interior Design

If you are creative, artistic, business-oriented, technically inclined, psychologically oriented, uniquely expressive, a visual thinker, a planner, a doer, a talker, a thinker, or any combination of these things, you might be interested in an interior design career. Interior designers work with architects, builders, design consultants, and a wide variety of clients to shape the spaces and experiences of individuals, businesses, and communities.

Music & Recording Arts

Often called the “Universal Language,” music is a central part of every culture on the planet. Music study and practice fosters creativity, artistry, aesthetic sensitivity, and intercultural experiences. The universal skills acquired in the study of music are exceptionally valued and championed in all career paths and workplaces. Music study and the music making process provides creative opportunities for the celebration of human existence.
