COVID-19 Email List Guide for Faculty

Dear faculty,

I know many of you are hard at work planning for the last couple weeks of the quarter.  Thank you for your efforts.

With the help of ITS, we have set up an email Distribution Group called “COVID-19”  for faculty to share ideas and questions with each other about strategies for the next two weeks.  This is an “opt-in” listserv, so please follow the directions below to add your name to the distribution list.  Only members of the list can send and receive emails, and you can “unjoin” at any time. (Once part of the group, you just email to “COVID-19” to send messages to the group.)

I hope this tool helps with your planning.  I’m still working to have a centralized site online set up to collect the information that is already being shared.

Directions for joining the COVID-19 Email Distribution List

(from IT Service Desk, slightly modified for COVID-19 instructions)

The following steps will help you join or leave a distribution group:

To join a distribution group:

  1. Go to https://outlook.office.com/ecp/
  2. Click Groups
  3. Under Distribution Groups I belong to, Select Join (icon with 2 figures and a “+”)
  4. In the dialog box, search for COVID-19 and select that group. You can search for a group by typing all or part of its name in the search window, and then selecting the search icon.
  5. Select the COVID-19 you want to join
  6. Select Join  (icon with 2 figures and a “+”)

To leave a distribution group:

  1. Go to https://outlook.office.com/ecp/
  2. Click Groups
  3. Under Distribution Groups I belong to, Select the COVID-19
  4. Select Leave (icon with 2 figures and a “-“)
