Veterans and the greater community are invited to attend Bellevue College’s annual Veterans Resource Fair for a chance to learn about the college and how veterans’ benefits can be used to support educational goals.
The fair will be held from 11 AM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 22 in the ballroom on the third floor of the U Building on campus. The free event is open to veterans, service members, their families, and community members.
The Veterans Resource Fair is designed to connect the veteran community with resources, benefits, and programs they may not know are available to them. Attendees will have access to breakout sessions, resource tables, and direct connections with local, state, and federal partners.
“Too often, veterans and families are not aware of all the benefits and services they have earned,” Josua Kienlen, Bellevue College’s director of Veteran Services, said. “This fair brings everything together in one place so they can leave with the tools and connections they need to succeed.”
Participating organizations include the Department of Veterans Affairs, Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, WorkSource, Seattle Vet Center, VFW Post 161, United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, Solid Ground, Bellevue College Veterans Resource Center, and many more.
The college’s Veterans Resource Center provides year-round support with education benefits, advising, and transition services. In July 2025, Bellevue College expanded this commitment with a $1.2 million King County grant to provide tuition assistance, enhanced case management, and additional support for underserved student veterans, including those who are low income, disabled, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, homeless, or formerly incarcerated.
“This event reflects Bellevue College’s deep commitment to veterans, not just as students but as vital members of our community,” Kienlen said. “Our goal is to remove barriers and open doors, whether through education, career advancement, or community resources.”
In addition to veteran services, Bellevue College is the third-largest institution of higher education in Washington state, serving over 20,000 students annually. The college offers a wide range of academic opportunities, including bachelor’s degrees, transfer associate degrees, professional and technical programs, and short-term certificates. Many programs are designed to prepare graduates for in-demand careers in healthcare, technology, business, and other fields.
“From education and employment to family services and wellness, we want every veteran to leave the fair with resources they can use immediately,” Kienlen said. “This event is about honoring service with action and making sure veterans have every opportunity to thrive in the next chapter of their lives.”
The Veterans Resource Fair is part of Bellevue College’s ongoing mission to be a catalyst for lifelong transformation, driving social and economic progress throughout the region.
