Carlson Theatre, Bellevue College - rows of empty seats

Bellevue College will host music, dance, and theatre performances from both students and world entertainers this fall. In November and December, Bellevue College’s Theatre Arts and Music departments will offer local arts and entertainment shows available to the entire community.

The college is home to Carlson Theatre, a 300-seat theater, and Stop Gap Studio, a 60-to 80-seat theater, both located in the E Building on the Bellevue College campus. General admission, ranging from free tickets to $15-$20, is affordable and accessible to all. Paid parking and maps of the college are also available. The Theatre Arts and Music departments offer events throughout the entire academic year.

November

Show title: The Crucible

Date: Nov. 19-22

Time: 7:30 PM every night, and 2 PM on Saturday.

Location: Carlson Theatre, Bellevue College campus

Description: Widely considered a masterpiece, this timeless classic challenges American ideas of power, intolerance, and justice. In the Puritan community of Salem, Massachusetts, a servant girl accuses a farmer’s wife of witchcraft. One accusation spirals into many, uncovering a web of bigotry and deceit that changes their lives forever. Among the most produced plays since its 1953 debut, “The Crucible” is both a gripping historical drama and an evergreen parable of contemporary society.

Show title: Fall Jazz Night featuring the Jazz Combo and Big Band

Date: Nov. 25

Time: 7 PM

Location: Carlson Theatre, Bellevue College campus

Description: Join Bellevue College with a night of jazz and band performances. Tickets are available at the door: free for Bellevue College students, $5 for seniors, $10 general admission, and $25 for a family pass.

December

Show title: Wu Fei (International Guitar Series)

Date: Dec. 10

Time: 7:30 PM

Location: Carlson Theatre, Bellevue College campus

Description: Wu Fei is a master of the guzheng, a Chinese zither often compared to the slide guitar for its expressive tonal range. Her performances weave Chinese folk traditions with avant-garde experimentation, creating a sound that feels at the same time ancient and contemporary, demonstrating how traditional instruments carry new meaning in modern hands.
