Bellevue College will host music, chamber, and dance performances from both students and world entertainers this winter. In February and March, Bellevue College’s Theatre Arts and Music departments will offer local arts and entertainment shows available to the entire community.
The college is home to Carlson Theatre, a 300-seat theater, and Stop Gap Studio, a 60-to 80-seat theater, both located in the E Building on the Bellevue College campus. General admission, ranging from free tickets to $15-$20, is affordable and accessible to all. Visitor parking ($3) and college campus maps are also available. The Theatre Arts and Music departments offer events throughout the entire academic year.

Show title: 28th Annual Jazz Band Festival

Description: Bellevue College’s Jazz Band, directed by Jim Sisko, will host the 28th annual Bellevue College Jazz Band Festival. There will be 40 middle school, high school, and college jazz bands and combos participating over two days.
Friday, February 6, will be an all-day event for middle schools, presenting the top three schools with special recognition in addition to a special presentation of eight individual awards.
On Saturday, February 7, from 8 AM to 5 PM, the high schools will compete. At 5 PM, the top three schools will be selected for the evening concert. The evening concert will start at 8 PM, followed by a performance by the Bellevue College Jazz Band with guest artist saxophonist Ben Wendel.
Admission: Daytime free; Saturday evening $15 for non-performers

Description: A comedy of farces, two young bachelors create alternative identities to escape Victorian society. A commentary on the superficiality of class and wealth in English society, “The Importance of Being Earnest” stands as a comedic work for over 100 years since its premiere in 1895. This production is presented by Stage Fright Drama Club and the Bellevue College Theatre Arts Department.
Admission: $10 for Bellevue College students, faculty, and staff. $15 for general public.
