Faculty Trainings and Resources
In addition to general training and resources available to all Bellevue College employees, faculty have an additional responsibility to ensure all course content is accessible to all students. The following training and resources are faculty and instruction focused.
Trainings
- Digital Accessibility Essentials training with Bellevue College in Bridge (required): Bellevue College required digital accessibility training for all employees.
- Interactive eLearning: Various digital accessibility how-to’s are hosted by Interactive eLearning during October and February “Month of Microlearning” sessions, as well as other sessions throughout the year.
- Bellevue College Faculty Commons Workshops and Communities of Practice: Learn alongside your peers in faculty led workshops. Workshops vary from quarter to quarter.
- SBCTC Accessibility Micro-Courses: SBCTC offers a variety of accessibility-related micro-courses. Each course is approximately 3 hours in length and focuses on particular skills and/or content creation programs.
Live Support
- Interactive eLearning live Zoom support: Daily office hours hosted by instructional designers to answer faculty questions.
- Interactive eLearning 1-1 accessibility coaching: Schedule dedicated time to work with an instructional designer on more complex digital accessibility barriers in your course/s.
- Disability Resource Center (consultation): Consult with disability experts on campus to problem-solve specific issues with your digital curriculum.

- Embedded accessibility Checkers within the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Course level accessibility reports in Canvas (UDOIT and Ally)
- Native Canvas Accessibility Checker
- DocAccess in Canvas
- Auto-captioning in Zoom, Teams, Panopto (tools available for the user)
- Mathpix and Equatio specifically for STEM content
- Adobe Acrobat Pro

- Interactive eLearning Digital Accessibility webpage: A resource page with helpful tips and guides with checklists.
- Online Excellence Teaching Academy 07: Accessibility Review with an Instructional Designer: Although part of the required training for instructors wishing to teach online courses, this course consistently receives positive evaluations and is available to all instructors.
- Guidance for Accessible Materials in Education (GAMEs): A self-enroll Canvas resource site updated quarterly by Interactive eLearning with guidance on accessibility tools and best practices for instructors.
- SBCTC Accessibility Center: Access to the SBCTC resource center.
- Linked-In Learning: Once you sign in, search “Digital Accessibility” to access more than 1,000 trainings on specific accessibility tools.
