Bellevue College Welcomes New Board of Trustees Member Desiré Sotelo 

Bellevue College is pleased to announce the appointment of Desiré Sotelo to its Board of Trustees, effective Aug. 7. Appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee, Sotelo brings a broad range of experience, fostering diverse perspectives and making a positive impact on the community.

Bellevue College to Host 8th Annual Japan Week 

The greater Eastside community is invited to attend Bellevue College’s eighth annual Japan Week, a series of events in which students will learn about Japanese culture and history, followed by a matsuri (festival) day open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 5.

XR Lab Awards 10 Microgrants with National Science Foundation’s Support

As part of a grant awarded by the National Science Foundation, Bellevue College has initiated a series of microgrants designed to fuel Extended Reality (XR) research. The effort is part of Bellevue College’s commitment to place itself at the cutting edge of XR development.

Bellevue College Taking Steps Toward Carbon Neutrality by 2050 

With the goal to become carbon neutral by 2050, Bellevue College is taking several steps to improve its carbon footprint, including transitioning its fleet to electric vehicles, improving biodiversity, and installing a Solar plus Storage system on campus, among others. These actions and more are outlined in its new Climate Action Plan.

Award-winning pianist Roman Goron began the current stage of his musical career in the fall of 2023 when he enrolled in big band and jazz classes at Bellevue College.

Bellevue College to Remove Trees on Campus 

To reduce the spread of tree pathogens, Bellevue College will begin removing dead and diseased trees on campus starting June 28. Of the college’s 2,524 trees located on its 102-acre campus, 134 are slated for removal (16 deemed hazardous and 66 of which are dead).
