Canvas Student Announcement & Assignment

It will be helpful if you post an announcement to your course. Your students may find it beneficial to have a short introduction assignment to ctcLink.

There are 2 optional student assignments and an announcement already for faculty to use. These encourage the student to activate their ctcLink account and register. These are posted under the Canvas Faculty Commons. Search for “BC ctcLink Student Assignment” for both assignments. The optional announcement is repeated below

Note to instructor: This text is available for you to modify as needed and to post to the announcement section of your course.

Bellevue College students will transition to a new software system called ctcLink on Nov. 17. Eventually, all 34 technical and community colleges across the state will operate using this software system. This is an exciting change! If you are registered at multiple colleges within the state, your ctcLink ID will remain the same. This means if you transfer between colleges, you will not have to learn a new system.

The system will visually look the same across all 34 colleges and have a fresh new face and a mobile app for the following processes:

  • Registering for classes
  • Viewing and updating your student information
  • Managing personal contact information
  • Paying tuition and fees
  • Accessing/applying for financial aid
  • Viewing your grades
  • Tracking academic goals
  • Applying for graduation
  • Contacting your instructors and/or advisor

To prepare, I posted an assignment to help you get started with obtaining your ctcLink ID and logging in to Canvas

Note to instructor: This assignment can also be linked and easily imported to your course from the Faculty Commons. Go to the Commons from your Canvas course and search for “CTC” or “CTC Bellevue”. You can also just copy the text here and paste into a new assignment created by you.
