Students at Bellevue College now have a streamlined and guaranteed route to a bachelor’s degree at Western Washington University through a new transfer pathway partnership announced today by both institutions.

As a young woman, Joan P. Baker wanted to go to medical school. 
But in order to get in, she needed a language other than English on her transcript, and she had unfortunately failed French. So, she turned to plan B: bypassing medical school to work in radiography.

College to Host MLK Day Keynote on ‘Building the Beloved Community’ 

Bellevue College will mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a keynote address exploring how to build the just, compassionate society that Dr. King envisioned. The event, "Beloved Community: Building One Hope, One Humanity," takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 14

College to Celebrate 60 Years of Transforming Lives 

In January 2026, Bellevue College will launch a yearlong celebration in honor of its 60th anniversary. Through a series of community events, an alumni award, a new magazine, and a look back at the history that built Bellevue College, all are invited to share this momentous occasion.

College Extends Partnership with Democratic Republic of Congo

Bellevue College’s president and leadership team recently traveled to Africa to sign an extension agreement with Complexe Scolaire Bellevue, a kindergarten, primary, and secondary school complex located in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Washington Supreme Court Brings Justice to the Classroom

Washington State’s Supreme Court justices left the marble halls of the Temple of Justice in Olympia and brought their proceedings directly to Bellevue College for two days, Nov. 12–13, as part of the Traveling Court program.

Late Counselor, Instructor Donates $1.8 Million to Bellevue College Foundation  

Thousands of Bellevue College students will benefit from $1.8 million bequeathed to the Bellevue College Foundation by the late Daniel J. LaFond, a former instructor and counselor, who passed in October 2024.
