Academic Standing Policy
Bellevue College is committed to supporting students in achieving academic success. Students who are not in good academic standing are notified and may be subject to progressive consequences. The Academic Standing Policy applies to all students, with limited exceptions and has been established in accordance with RCW 28B.10.695 (opens in new tab).
Academic Standing Definitions
GPA – Grade Point Average
Cumulative GPA – reflects your GPA across all terms at Bellevue College.
Term – An academic period (quarter) during which courses are offered and completed.
Academic Standing – the cumulative and term GPA of a Bellevue College student.
Academic Progress – Maintaining a cumulative and term GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Academic Standing Levels
- Level 1: Academic Concern
- Level 2: Academic Intervention
- Level 3: Academic Restriction
- Level 4: Academic Dismissal
Financial Aid and SAP
- Academic Standing is different from Satisfactory Academic Performance (SAP). If you are not meeting SAP requirements and need an Academic Performance Plan (APP), or have questions about your Financial Aid, contact the Financial Aid Office (opens in new tab),
